These inspections are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen market oversight and ensure traders and retail outlets comply with consumer protection policies and implement them effectively. The ministry also received 2,441 consumer complaints during this period, including 1,994 complaints related to increases in food prices, 9 complaints related in the hotel sector, and 438 other complaints. The Ministry of Economic and Tourism has also established a national crisis and emergency team focused on market oversight in cooperation with local economic departments.
