U.S. awaits Iran's response on peace summit as Israel watches warily

The United States and regional mediators are discussing the possibility of high-level peace talks with Iran, but are waiting for a response from Tehran. The U.S. has shared with Israel a 15-point plan to end the war and claimed that Iran had agreed to many of the key points, but there has been no evidence of any agreement. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is concerned that a deal with Iran would fall short of Israel's objectives and limit Israel's ability to conduct strikes against Iran. Iranian officials deny the claims of behind-the-scenes negotiations, but confirm the US has sent messages and proposals. Pakistan has said it is ready and honored to host peace talks if both countries agree. The United States is also preparing for potential escalation.
