Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux has detailed the chaotic final moments of a deadly shooting that left Detective Randy Hoppert dead and resulted in the suspect being killed by deputies. The incident occurred during an hours-long standoff that ended when suspect David Morales exited the home armed with a rifle and took up a firing position. The sheriff described the destruction left behind during the incident, with bullet holes through the windshield, glass and shrapnel everywhere. The department is now focusing on grieving and healing following the incident. The suspect was eventually taken down and investigators are still trying to determine a motive for the shooting.
