The Department of War confirmed that four crew members were killed when an Air Force refueling tanker went down over Iraq. The Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker was carrying six service members and a second aircraft landed safely. The incident is under investigation and the loss of the aircraft was not due to hostile fire or friendly fire. The Pentagon did not specify why there were extra crew members on board.
