White Sox third baseman Miguel Vargas has seen a significant improvement in his performance this spring, following a difficult period following his trade from the Dodgers to the Sox in 2024. After a mechanical change, Vargas improved from April 19 to the end of last season, batting.248/.329/.432, with 32 doubles leading the Sox and ranking fifth in the majors. Vargas also expressed a desire to become a complete third baseman in his second full season with the Sox. He and his coach, Justin Jirschele, are focusing on improving his range and being 'weightless'. The Sox are pleased with Vargas' arm strength and plan to improve his pre-pitch setup.
