A 40-year-old Middlesex Borough man, Luis Oxlaj, has been sentenced to 25 years in state prison for the 2021 sexual assault of a young girl. A Union County jury found him guilty of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. Under New Jersey’s Jessica Lunsford Act, he must serve the full sentence before becoming eligible for parole and will be subject to parole supervision for life. The victim was sexually assaulted between the ages of 8 and 9. The conviction was made after a referral from the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency.
