Kanagawa Prefectural Police have arrested two men, Yuto Nakano and Hiroto Urabe, for allegedly breaking into a warehouse in Gunma Prefecture and stealing a chainsaw and other items. The men used a generative AI to estimate the value of the stolen goods and uploaded an image of one of the items to ChatGPT. In February, Nakano was arrested for attempting to break into a house in Yokohama City with images of the chainsaw stolen from the warehouse, which led to his arrest. The pair allegedly received instructions via the chat app Signal.
