The $9 million project is transforming Northwest 23rd Street in Oklahoma City, but small businesses are finding it difficult to maintain customers due to ongoing construction. Uptown Jerky has seen an 80% decrease in sales for its flagship restaurant, followed by an increase in sales of Pizzeria Gusto. The project aims to make the busy area safer and more pedestrian friendly, but with a year and a half-long timeline, small businesses worry they may not be able to reap the benefits.
