Giancarlo Stanton performed well in his spring debut for the Yankees against Team Panama, going 1-for-2 with a hard single and a walk. This comes after he missed all of spring training due to a painful bout of tendinitis in both elbows. Stanton, who has been eased into Grapefruit League action, has been working to stay fit and healthy for as long as possible. Despite underperforming early on in the season, Stanton has been batting well with a.944 OPS and 24 home runs in 77 games. He has been praised by his teammates for his high-level knowledge of the game and preparation.
