Mo Lounge, a five-star luxury hotel Mandarin Oriental restaurant at 80 Columbus Circle, has launched its afternoon tea service at the 35th floor of its flagship restaurant, Mo Lounge. The service, led by Executive Pastry Chef Ron Paprocki, features a selection of teas from the renowned Rare Tea Company and is designed and led by him. The menu includes a range of savory tea sandwiches and pastries that take guests through Paprok's pastry career. The main highlight of the afternoon tea is a crisp caramelized Almond Florentine topped with a Luxardo cherry, followed by a Passion Fruit Choux and a Yuzu-Match Tart. The tea menu, launched in January, comes at a time when tea consumption is on the rise in the U.S., particularly among younger generations, particularly among Millenials. Despite a Gallup poll showing only 54% of American adults drink alcohol, this is a record low since 1939.
