From 'Six-Seven' To 'Skibidi': The Most Cringe-Inducing Slang, Ranked

A survey conducted by Preply has revealed that over 1,500 Brits have identified the most cringe-inducing slang, with words like "six-seven", "glazing," "mid", and "unc". The most offensive language was "souce," meaning "noise, not sorry", "novel", "supreme," and "slown". The study also revealed that while some words like'skibbidi' or "Rizz" are closely associated with online subcultures, they can feel forced or inauthentic. However, Melissa Baerse Berk, an Associate Linguistics Professor from the University of Chicago, believes that ironic language allows people to engage with trends without fully committing to them.
