The Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens is recovering 13 rescued sloths from a case involving animals linked to the proposed Orlando attraction, Sloth World. The large influx of animals, which requires around-the-clock care, has taken a financial strain on the zoo. The medical team is treating each sloth individually and trying to keep them stress-free to aid in their recovery. The sloths will quarantine for at least 30 days, which leaves staff away from caring for other animals and only treating the sloths. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission reported that 31 sloths had died under preventable circumstances at a different holding facility.
