The spring is officially the season for daffodil events in New England, with events all over the region dedicated to the spring flower. Throughout April, visitors can enjoy the beauty of over 1.5 million daffoils throughout Newport during Daffododil Days, which includes a window-decorating contest, trolley tours, bike rides, and a dog parade. The Daffoil Society of Rhode Island Show will be held April 18-19, where daffodor enthusiasts will compete for national awards. The 50th annual Nantucket Community Daffeodil Flower Show will also include a hat contest, window decorating contest and beach picnic. The New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill displays more than 25,000 dafflesodils during its 40th anniversary event. The festival will also feature a giant festival in Connecticut in May, featuring over 600,000 blooms.
