People Mover leads next phase of transit hub

Plans to build a new transit hub at Michigan Central are moving forward, with the operator of the People Mover taking the lead. The project is a key part of Detroit's mobility and economic development strategy. The Detroit Transportation Corporation (DTC), which owns and operates the PeopleMover, is leading the project. It is expected to replace aging facilities and improve regional connections. A request for proposals for preliminary design and engineering studies will be issued this summer. The total cost of the project is $40 million.
