Reform UK has proposed scrapping Air Passenger Duty for all domestic and short-haul tickets where an adult is travelling with an under-18-year-old. The tax, paid by aircraft operators on flights departing the UK, does not apply to passengers under 16 on economy flights. From Wednesday, the tax will increase by £1 for domestic flights, £8 per flight, and £2 for short-hundred international economy flights, bringing the overall cost to £15. The party estimates that a family of two adults and two children to Malaga in Spain could save £45 on four tickets.
