The Preston County Commission is considering a proposed county-wide EMS ordinance fee, which would be used to fund Advanced Life Support Emergency Services across the county. The fee would be charged at a rate between $150-$165. Currently, Preston County does not have a levy in place to fund emergency services and would miss out on potential funding from the County Emergency Medical Services Fund. The proposal is in its 14th revision. If signed into law, it would grant each county a portion of guaranteed funding through an allocation of $12 million in lottery funds.
