A woman was taken into custody by East Haven police on an outstanding arrest warrant and transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for evaluation after initially providing false information about her identity. She died later that evening while being held in a holding cell at the police station. The circumstances surrounding this death are currently under investigation by the Connecticut Office of the Inspector General and the Connecticut State Police Major Crime Squad.
