Taxi drivers announce blockade at Mexico City International Airport today

The taxi drivers are protesting against the government's support for ride-hailing apps operating at Mexico City International Airport (AICM). The protest, led by the taxi organization New Image Land Transportation, A.C., will begin this morning at the entrance of gate 9 and move on to block access roads to both terminals. Taxi drivers have warned that taxi companies at the airport will not provide services during the protest. The protests follow the introduction of a bill to modify the law and allow the operation of digital transportation platforms (Uber, DiDi) in federal areas, including the AICM.
