Man sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his father

Troy Blaine Almhjeld, a 48-year-old man from Mapleton, has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his 71-year father. The murder occurred in June 2025 near the Terrace View Golf Course. Police found a vehicle in the ditch and found Blaine lying on the floor covered in blood with cuts to his chest and head. The National Domestic Violence Hotline offers assistance for victims of domestic violence.
