San Jose father sentenced to 25 years-to-life in prison for 2020 killing of infant daughter, DA says

Jesse Manuel Figueroa, a 36-year-old San Jose man, has been sentenced to 25 years-to-life in prison for the 2020 killing of his infant daughter, 8-month-old Raina. The beating caused Raina to fall unconscious and cause brain damage, and an autopsy found that the child's brain had shifted inside her skull. At the time of the murder, Figueeroa was under a restraining order preventing him from unsupervised visits with Raina and had previously beaten and strangled his girlfriend, Raina's mother, and abused their other children.
