Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso retired from the Chinese Grand Prix due to excessive vibration from his Honda-powered car. Alonso, a two-time world champion, had hoped for the 2026 engine and chassis reset, but struggled at the back of the field. Honda, whose engines have previously powered Max Verstappen to four drivers’ world championships with Red Bull, is struggling to identify the issue ahead of their home race in Japan. Alonso said there were "artificial" fixes but that the engine needs more time on the dyno to determine how to run it in a way that it vibrates less.
