Carvel has announced that it will sell flying saucers for 75 cents at its stores in Coney Island, Massapequa, and West Palm Beach, FL. The Flying Saucer was introduced by Tom Carvel in 1951, sandwiching soft serve ice cream between two chocolate wafer cookies. The name was influenced by the popularity of UFOs in America. The announcement is part of a celebration of the brand's legacy.
