Rocker, who had a strong April, struggled in his May starts with a double and single in which he allowed three runs and allowed three in three innings. His performance was criticized by his manager, Skip Schumaker, for his high pitch counts and for his lack of control over foul balls and balls. Despite winning the fifth-starter job out of Spring Training, Rocker's last two starts have yielded eight runs in five 2/3 innings against the Tigers and Cubs, raising his season ERA from 3.38 to 5.01.
