Barack Obama and Luke Skywalker have celebrated Star Wars Day 2026 with a video titled "Strong, The Dad Jokes Are!" celebrating the upcoming opening of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. The former President stated that the 200-foot granite structure, nicknamed Obamalisk, is "much more than a museum" and "an entire campus built to empower you." The center, which was completed at an estimated cost of $850 million, has received significant donations from celebrities including Shonda Rhimes, Philip Rosenthal, Steven Spielberg and Kate Capsahw. The actor, who has previously supported Democrats and Obama in particular, revealed that he saw a gesture from Obama's take on Jay-Z’s “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” for a scene in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
