Plastic still biggest pollutant on island beaches

The Clean Earth Trust has revealed that plastic remains the most common material to be found on Guernsey beaches, making up 77% of the total total of 30,156 items removed from the coastline in the 2025 calendar year. The total number of items collected on the island has almost doubled since the previous year, with volunteers participating in beach cleans increasing significantly. The Trust warns that the true amount of litter will significantly increase.
