South Daytona resident raises flooding concerns ahead of hurricane season

Heavy rain has caused flooding in South Daytona, raising concerns ahead of the upcoming hurricane season. The area has seen more than two inches of rain, causing significant flooding. Residents are concerned about repeat of the issue experienced during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2024. Jessica Inglett, a resident who lives in the area, says the flooding has been a problem for years and has been causing children to take a quick dip in the water. The city has completed some sidewalk and drain work, but Inglett believes more needs to be done to prevent future flooding.
