The ninth annual Epilepsy Walk & Purple Picnic is set for May 16 at Stamford’s Cove Island Park in Fairfield County, Connecticut. The event aims to raise money and connect people affected by epilepsy with others who have similar experiences. The walk will begin at 9 a.m. and will be followed by a picnic with boxed lunches provided. Organizers also plan activities for kids, speakers, and a dog-friendly walk. Danielle Blaine and Gabrielle "Gabi" Blaine, co-chair of the event, have been volunteering with the Epileps Foundation of Connecticut for 15 years. The foundation describes epilepsy as a neurological condition marked by recurrent seizures.
