Alex Jones, founder of the Infowars conspiracy network, is set to lose his empire for spreading lies about the victims of a school shooting. Jones, who has been court-ordered to pay roughly $1 billion to several families of those who died in the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting, again lied about the 2012 shooting. The Onion has agreed to acquire Infowar brand as part of a bankruptcy plan that would grant The Onion a six-month license to use it. The Sandy Hook families would benefit from the new venture. Jones has been criticized for his lies, which have led to him being harassed and threatened to re-target Sandy Hook family days later.
