Army officer killed in Old Dominion University shooting had served at Fort Bragg

Lt. Col. Brandon Shah was killed during a shooting at Old Dominion University, where he served as a professor of military science. The U.S. Army Cadet Command confirmed that Shah had served more than 20 years in the military, including several years at Fort Bragg. His cousin, Twana Atkinson, expressed pride in his service and shock at the loss of his life. The shooter, Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, was identified as a former Army National Guard member who pleaded guilty in 2016 to attempting to aid the Islamic State terrorist group ISIS. The attack is being treated as an act of terrorism.
