1 Hospitalized, Family Pet Dies After House Fire In Hamden: Officials

A house fire in Hamden, Connecticut, has left one family pet dead from smoke inhalation and two dogs and two cats rescued from the scene. The fire was caused by a faulty flat top grill and was contained to the basement, but it spread rapidly and caused extensive heat and smoke damage throughout the home. The American Red Cross and the local authorities assisted in assisting the family.
