The last two spots in the team are decided between Jared Young and Richard Lovelady, who have been named as the finalists for the bench and bullpen competitions, and who have also been designated for assignment. Young will be a lefty bat off the bench capable of playing first base and a corner outfield spot. Additionally, Lovelada will be another lefty in a team that is without AJ Minter.
