Murder case against Nebraska teenager to stay in adult court

The Nebraska Supreme Court has upheld a Court of Appeals decision to keep 16-year-old Stephen D'Amore's case against him in adult court, despite his defense team's attempts to move the case to juvenile court. D’Amore is accused of first-degree murder and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony charges in Lancaster County, Nebraska. His defense team had filed a motion to have the case moved to juvenile courts in December 2024, but it was denied. The state supreme court found no error in its ruling.
