Disneyland Park is planning to replace the gas-powered engines used on its iconic attraction, Autopia, with fully electric vehicles. This follows reports in 2000 that Disney was considering replacing the ride's cars with hybrid vehicles. A coalition of electric vehicle activists urged Disney to eliminate these engines, and Disney has since confirmed this. The announcement follows an agreement with the California Air Resources Board to retire the vehicles in early 2027.
