The House of Representatives, including House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La), and Republican leaders, are set to speak about the ongoing dispute over funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) which has resulted in mounting callouts and resignations at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and long wait times at airport security checkpoints. Despite proposals from both sides, House Republicans have pushed against splitting up legislation to fund non-immigration agencies under DHS, despite the White House and Senate GOP indicating they are open to this.
