Mills attacks Platner over past Reddit comments about sexual assault in new ad

Maine Gov. Janet Mills’s campaign has launched its first attack ad against her opponent, Graham Platner, criticising him for his past Reddit comments about sexual assault. The 30-second ad shows several women reading Platner's comments, calling him a "bully" and "no way" they could vote for him. The six-figure ad is running on both cable and broadcast television, marking a significant turn in the Democratic primary to unseat Sen. Susan Collins. Platner has faced scrutiny over past Reddits comments he made about Black people tipping and law enforcement, but distanced himself from the remarks.
