Apple is expected to unveil more Apple Intelligence features at its WWDC 2026 event, but these features will remain out of the user's way. The company has long stated that AI should be a background tool that users should not be directly interacting with it directly. However, this has led to the perception that Apple is behind in the AI race. Siri is being revamped with a new backend powered by Apple Foundation Models, but users will still be able to play music, set timers, or make calls with the assistant as usual. The upcoming iOS 27 will also feature the ability to call out to any third-party tool, potentially allowing users to target other companies without needing to collaborate with other companies.
