Chinese 3D AI startup, Tripo AI, has secured a $50 million investment from Alibaba and Baidu Ventures in the US, arguing that the next battleground in generative AI isn't text or images but geometry. The company, which converts inputs into production-ready 3D assets, recently crossed 6.5 million professional developers globally and has over 90,000 enterprise customers, including over 700 large enterprise partners. Founder and CEO Simon Song believes the US market is a significant center for technology innovation and AI adoption and represents the company's largest user market globally. Tripo's focus is on deployability over novelty and integration of AI tools into creative and production pipelines. The platform already integrates with Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, Unity, and Unreal.
