French beverage wholesaler, UniBev, may derail Tesla's plans to rename its autonomous robotaxi service Cybercab. The name aligns with Tesla's line of "Cyber" products. However, the company has filed a 167-page complaint with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, accusing UniBeva of "bad faith trademark squatter". If the issue goes to trial, a decision could be delayed until 2027. Tesla has also submitted trademark filings for "cybercar" and "Cyperveh", which could allow it to bypass regulatory requirements related to the word "cab".
