The parents of slain New York teen Sheridan Gorman have criticized the failed policies that allowed the illegal migrant suspected in her murder into the US. Jose Medina-Medina, a 25-year-old Venezuelan national, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in addition to attempted murder and gun charges. Gorman was allegedly gunned down near her Chicago university on March 19. The accused killer had been captured illegally entering the country in 2023 but was released under Biden's catch-and-release program and allowed to travel to Chicago. President Trump criticised his predecessor and Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, blaming their leadership for allowing Medina-Madina to be caught twice before being set free.
