Former US Rep. Colin Allred and U.S. Rep. Julie Johnson are set to face each other in the Democratic primary for a redrawn North Texas seat. This comes after the U.N. Supreme Court allowed Texas to redistrict its election map, giving Republicans five more GOP-leaning seats. With nearly all votes counted, neither Allred nor Johnson won a majority of the vote. Allred's previous seat was in the 32nd District, which was redrawn in 2022, making it more Democratic.
