Russia has targeted Ukraine with missiles and drones, killing six people and causing significant damage across several regions. Five of the dead were in the Kyiv region outside the capital, where President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russian forces targeted energy infrastructure and damaged residential buildings, schools, and businesses. The attack included around 430 drones and 68 missiles, most of which were downed by air defences. The governor of the southeastern region of Zaporizhzhia also reported a residential area hit by Russian-guided bombs, killing one person and injuring three. The strikes come as the Iran conflict distracts from a U.S.-backed peace push in the four-year war.
