Several local businesses are set to celebrate Pi Day on March 14 with special deals on food. The first Pi Day was held in 1988 at the Exploratorium in San Francisco. The day is celebrated for the mathematical symbol π, which is used to calculate the area, volume, and circumference of a circle.
