Lawmakers can rename Orlando International Airport if DeSantis signs new bill

A new bill, HB 919, has passed the Florida Legislature allowing the state to rename major commercial service airports across the state, but only applies to one of them, the Palm Beach International Airport. The bill, filed by state Rep. Meg Weinberger, specifically refers to the airports based on the FAA's classification system, which defines these hubs as medium- or large-sized. However, the governor's approval of the change is dependent on approval from the FAA and an agreement between the county and the trademark holder.
