A line drive from the Athletics' Carlos Cortes accidentally lodged itself in Seattle Mariners pitcher Logan Gilbert's jersey during a game against them. Despite being briefly examined by the Mariners' head athletic trainer, Gilbert managed to stay on the pitch and allow two earned runs. The incident occurred during the first inning.
