French oil company, TotalEnergies, has discovered hydrocarbons in the Republic of Congo as part of a drilling effort to expand its existing Moho field. The discovery represents recoverable resources of up to 100 million barrels. This discovery is part of an effort by the oil industry to replenish dwindling resources.
