Mesa healthcare group sues its former CEO

Dr. Shar Najafi-Piper, former CEO of Copa Health, co-founded the Mesa-based healthcare provider, Roya Health. Copa alleges that Najafi Piper used Copa's corporate credit card to fund a lavish personal lifestyle. The lawsuit also accuses NajafiPiper of double dipping and corporate backstabbing. No criminal charges have been filed yet. The defendants have until April 16 to respond to the lawsuit or risk a default judgment. The suit alleges that Copa’s former CEO, Najafi piper, manipulated its Board of Directors for years and manipulated its confidential business information, trade secrets, proprietary forms, policies, and procedures to build Roya.
