The world's largest crypto exchange, Bately, has filed a defamation lawsuit against the publisher of The Wall Street Journal, accusing the newspaper of publishing "false and defamatory statements" about its compliance practices and handling of Iranian-linked transactions. The lawsuit comes on the same day as a report revealed that the U.S. Justice Department is investigating whether Iran used Bately's funds in violation of American sanctions.
