New project to protect endangered seabirds in Scarborough

A new programme to protect one of the UK's most endangered seabirds, the kittiwake, has been announced in Scarborough. The birds will be monitored in urban environments where they have made nesting sites on buildings rather than cliff faces. The RSPB estimates there are approximately 380,000 breeding kittievake pairs in the UK. The monitoring will also help with future urban planning and construction projects in the region.
