Broadway Box Office: Grosses Fall Amid Spring Openings, Daniel Radcliffe Cracks Top Five

A number of Broadway shows saw their attendance decrease last week due to spring break crowds and several productions offering free tickets. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was the highest grossing show, earning $2.4 million at the Lyric Theatre, followed by Hamilton and The Lion King. Moulin Rouge! also cracked the top five for the first time. Despite this, overall gross decreased by 10 percent and attendance fell five percent. The new musical Beaches saw capacity fall to 61 percent in its third week of Broadway previews.
