Former Kanye West artist Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has responded to criticism over his planned appearance at London's Wireless Festival in July, stating that he will have to show change through his actions. The announcement of Ye as headliner for all three days of the festival was met with criticism and withdrawal from sponsors, including Pepsi, Diageo, and PayPal, due to his previous antisemitic comments. Festival Republic, a subsidiary of Live Nation, has released a statement on behalf of Ye, titled ‘To Those I've Hurt’ and stated that they are not giving him a platform to express opinions but to perform the songs currently played on radio stations and streaming platforms. The Jewish Leadership Council and Mayor of London criticised the decision, while festival boss Melvin Benn supported the booking.
